Personal Statement
I have a keen interest in music having been involved with a variety school, university and community ensembles. I have been playing percussion from the age of 6, electric bass from the age of 12, and double bass from the age of 16. I have also sung in a number of vocal ensembles. I have been a part of my school's stage band, concert band, jazz band, jazz quintet, chamber ensemble, senior choir, and Low Rumbles, a senior male vocal group. While at school, I was also a member of multiple community bands, including The Big Band Theory, Blue Hypothesis Big Band, and The Port Macquarie Hastings Town Band.
At university, I have been an active member of the Adelaide University Medical Orchestra Big Band and Vocal Ensemble, as well as performing as a member of the orchestra for MedRevue in 2015 and 2016. This has been a highlight of my time at university, allowing me to socialise with like-minded students while playing music to a high standard.
While I regularly participated in team sports such as cricket and soccer while at high school, I have most recently been a member of the Adelaide University Cycling Club. I enjoy going for rides out in the hills and along the beaches, and this has been a great way to stay fit while exploring my new surrounds in Adelaide.
My family regularly travels within Australia and overseas, enabling the experience of other cultures and societies around the world, while enjoying other favourite pastimes such as skiing and SCUBA diving.
